Navigating the rocky shores of Lake Michigan with a red head lamp at night is an adventure all its own.
Once settled on the rocks with my camera level on the tripod, it’s time to stop and take in the night. Stars, breeze, lapping waves, lights from boats, a light house and distant homes, shadows of the trees that look silhouetted even before I take any photos…
Then we open our minds to the family day we’ve just had walking the shores of Lake Michigan, stopping at different beaches to experience the trip up north, watching the sunset over the water in Charlevoix, before ending it with this beautiful night under the stars. Calming therapy from the universe fills our minds from the stars above and the noises from the water. Our minds relax and reflect on the joyous adventure of our summer trip.
Gaze into the night sky and listen to the sounds of the world you don’t normally have time for during busy days.
This image will always be full of meaning for me because
this was my first time photographing the Milky Way in a truly dark sky location.

I named this collection Step into Adventure because it really explores the type of fun we like to have on summer vacations shared with our families.
This art can stir up feelings of epic road trip adventures to once in a lifetime places. Even though none of these images are actually of iconic places, they can instill the same feelings when we let the art speak to our minds, souls, and memories.
Step into adventure can remind you that the regular places you maybe visit(ed) every year are just as important as those once in a lifetime places, as they leave a lasting legacy for your family.
